This year I have learnt so much with Miss O'B as my teacher and I will miss everyone in my class my plans for the holidays is to catch up with friends and to have fun. I would really love Imogen to be in my class next year and some of the boys because they alway have a good laugh.

Here is my short story

Its Me

It was me the whole time I was here and no one knew. I have been sitting in this corner for three hours. I was a student leader and then one day I wasn't. I lost all of my badges I became unpopular and got bullied and worst of all... one day I went missing. Just poof gone no one really knew where I was and of course no one cared except Frayah, my BFF. She isn't around lots, she has Motor Neuron disease. That is where you start speaking very slowly, you can't hold or hug and then you can't breathe and eventually, you die.

So yeah that is me, unpopular, uncool and I have a friend that is dying. Strangely that isn't the worst thing in my life. The worst thing happens later on, let’s go to that time.  

“LET GO OF ME, LET GO OF ME!” I was screaming at the top of my lungs because someone was kidnapping me, just one person but they were strong. They were holding me in one place as though someone was coming to come and talk to me. But nothing happened. It was like they were trying to force me to do something and eventually I did. I broke away and killed him. I was so shocked that I ran. I didn't know where but I ran. I just ran. I ran so fast my shoes set on fire. Then I decided to go to the swimming pool and jump in but it was winter and the swimming pools were getting cleaned so I went to the river and cooled off there. When I had cleaned off and dried I thought about that poor man and how I killed him he probably had a family and kids he didn't kill me so he must have been ordered against his own will.

A little bit after that I had a flashback

I was in an alley and my mother was there, my biological one. Mum was under a hood and she was setting some kind of spell on me. She was saying,

“I know I am not supposed to be doing this but here it is . It will last all of your life to find. It will cost someone else's but gravity is worth it.” After that I snapped back.  

“Wow… wait that means I have gravity powers that means I can run off of the ground and on water and, and can make portals. I love my mum.”  I was so excited that at night I couldn't sleep. I just stayed awake trying out my powers. I ruined my cardboard bed and the dumpster next to me because I ran into them and I surprisingly didn't get hurt. I did make lots of dents though.

Now it was Monday and I didn't go to school that week. I was looking for my mum and trying to have flash backs like the one before, but it didn't work. I did have one though when I didn't expect it.  We were in a law court ‘we’ being my Mum and I.

I was small like just born and mum was debating wether I should have ‘the’ spell put on me or not and mum was saying yes and the judge was saying no. Then the judge said something like “Joanne Haselwood I will not allow Midnight to go to the human world with a curse on her, I forbid you.”  Then it was gone, it was all gone, everything I thought about myself. I never knew my name was Midnight. People always called but now I know my name is Midnight Haselwood and my mum was Joanne Haselwood. I was from another planet. But which one? Then I remember in the corner of the court it said … Radnor Court. Radnor that must be it! I must be Midnight Haselwood from the planet Radnor.

The whole week I worked hard at school so I could get free time on the computers and when I did get free time I searched up Midnight Haselwood and Radnor. It came up nothing for midnight Haselwood but when I searched up Radnor it came up with flights to Radnor. I was so excited I just clicked it and booked tickets. I needed a credit card so I just stole my teachers using my portal device from the bathroom so no one would see the one I was going through.

Just before I left I checked in on Frayah and sadly when I walked in her mum told me that,

“She passed and was going to tell me at school but… here I am.”  I knew it would come soon but this was too soon I can't believe my best friend in the whole world my only friend just died. She was too young to die.

“Have fun on your flight to Radnor and remember ‘Return to your roots, Where there are roots’ have a nice flight,” The flight attendant was saying.

The plane I was in was very small and there were two other people an alien I think and a woman she was dressed as an alien and writing in her journal she closed the journal when I walked past and on the front it said ‘Regrets’.

I walked a little too far and walked into the front of the plane I instantly turned back. My seat was right behind the woman so I could see what was in her journal. We were about to take off and I was looking for a seatbelt but there were none.  “Ok this plane has no safety and aliens,” I was thinking to myself. But at the same time I was thinking,  “This means I can look in the woman's journal and see what she is writing.”

“Ok passengers the toilets are now available for anyone that wants to use them,” the flight attendant said over the microphone. Instantly I thought,

“If that woman is standing up to go to the toilet while she is there I can read her journal mwa ha ha ha haaa.” So I stood up and reached over for her journal while she was in the toilet. I was reading it and all it said was,

“I wish I hadn't let her go, where are you Midnight?” After I put the book in the exact place I found it I went and sat down in my seat and thought was that my mother is she still alive? Can I still find her?

After we landed I went straight to the help desk and asked for Radnor and she pointed the way the my supposed mum was going. When I got to the place I was going to, (which was a meet and greet) I was looking everywhere for my supposed mum I couldn't find her at first the I did I found her she was in a massive seat with lots of people around her taking photos.

After I had been called names and got pushed around I plucked up the courage to go and shout, “MUM IT’S ME!” “Midnight … your daughter!”  It worked. I got noticed and my supposed mum started to cry. I think she was happy or she was sad. She came running down to me and hugged me. In the background everyone was cheering except one dude he was booing but he got drowned out.  After everything was quiet and mum had said her speech which everyone found normal one of the people shouted “it is the new princess she had returned from the planet earth.”

“Mum is it true am I the princess now am I a royal.”

“Yes darling” Mum sayed in a very quiet voice.  “Yes you are the new Princess of Radnor you can stay here if you want you don't have to go back you can stay. But…..” “But what?”

“It’s nothing, it's just you have a spell put on you and only I know”

“Mum don't worry I know about it I kept having flash backs and it was strange.”

“That's good just don't tell anyone like people are allowed to have spells put on them but still don't tell anyone and don't use it only when you have to. Do you understand me”

“Yes mum I understand you Ok I am going to get some sleep is that alright?”

“Yes your room is down the hall through the great room take the third right then the second left that go through the kitchen and take the first right and there you are.”

“Ok” I said a little bit nervous “Or you can just use your portal power,”said mum “That sounds much easier. Love you mum bye.”

“Blood that boiled pus is drained down goes with the stinky pains.”  “AAAAAA” Joanne screams. “MUM whats wrong?” I say running in.  “Darling get out, just get out it's not safe here there is someone in here someone wants to kill us.”

“Mum there is a bloody knife with….. your blood on it what happened?”  “Nothing don't worry just a scrape I think. I knocked him out he should be out cold for a while.”

After hugging mum and bandaging her up I went to sleep but all I wanted to do was to fall asleep with mum. So I crept into her room and the minute I walked in, gone again, everything was gone. Not because a flashback because I was dead. Mum was dead. We were both murdered by the man in the crowd that was booing.

They had locked him up but they don't know why he did it I think it was because he was jealous that I was the princess i think he wanted to be the Prince.  It has been 2 weeks and our bodies had been found and they were buried in our garden but they weren't in a coffin so they started to smell but the good thing is when you are a ghost you have limited smell sometimes you smell and sometimes you don't.

So that was my life it was. Kind of better now though because I was always with mum and I met my dad as well. He got murdered by the same guy that murdered us when I was 3 months old. Since we were ghost we could watch the world go by some of the things we saw was the plane flying into our house, people stealing our stuff and the river being infected by snakes. But who cares I'm here now and that is what matters because, It’s me with family.

Today we had a mandarin lesson and we were painting pandas with ink we did two copies one on a scrap piece of paper and one on rice paper here is mine that is on wax paper.

Superstitions

Sunshine Wilcock

Year 7                                                           

Sunshine: Welcome to The Superstition tonight we will be talking about superstition and where they originated from. Ok so some people think that superstitions are only bad but there are good or fun superstitions like in Denmark they save their broken dishes for new year's eve to throw them at their family and friends house to wish them luck for the next year but some danish kids opt to leave broken piles of plates at their friends and family doors instead of throwing for a less violent manner of wishing them a happy new year. I don't know exactly where this tradition or superstition came from but I do know that it sounds very cool and I wish we could do it. Ok so there are good superstitions but there are also bad ones like if a black cat crosses your path you are “doomed” black cats are apparently doomed because in the middle ages they were associated with witches and when a black cat crosses your path a curse is put on you. Fun fact in the olden days they were very anti-witch so if someone thought someone else was a witch they would burn them and if they burned they were innocent people and if they didn't burn they were a witch.

Ok back to superstitions one of the most popular superstitions is the Friday 13th superstitions and most people don't know know what it is so the Friday 13th superstitions is  The Associate Policy Scientist from the University of Delaware says that people often perceive

• 12 to be a "safe" number- after all, there are 12 months in a year, 12 zodiac signs, 12 tribes of Israel, 12 apostles of Jesus . . . So on and so forth. This results in the belief that the number that follows is incomplete, and, therefore, "unlucky."   
• There is a photo that I found It says Happy Friday 13th don't walk under any ladders don't break and mirrors don't spill any salt dot open an umbrella inside don't pick up a coin facing upside down and don't let a black cat cross your path

Sunshine - Mum I gave her water but it is just coming out of her mouth and blood is coming out as well she keeps on whining something
Mum-Ok darling we will be home soon just keep her warm I don't mind if you ruin a blanket
Sunshine- MUM GET HOME QUICK I was hearing this noise and then the dog rolled over and I saw a Zip.
Mum- DO NOT UNZIP IT
Sunshine- I unzipped it and there is a girl she is covered in blood.
Mum - I am calling the police
Sunshine - She keeps on saying 'daddy is going to be angry '
Mum-
Sunshine - There is a man at the door saying "I know you have my dog, I know she is I there"
Sunshine - He burst through the dog I am hiding my phone now
Mum- Sunshine Sunshine answer me
Sunshine - MUM I am in a van he doesn't know I have my phone I have to keep hiding it in my sock
MUm - what does the van look like and where are you
Sunshine - we are around on state highway 5 I think But I don't know I am just really scared.

The Survivor

Duane kale some people won't know this name but most of the kids at Havelock North Intermediate do. Duane kale is a three-time Paralympian Olympic medalist and we would know we got to hold them. Duane was only 21 years old when he fell off his bike a bruised his spine it took 1 1/2 years for doctors to find out he had a tumor in his spine. he loved swimming so he got his coach to teach him how to swim as a Paralympian and as you can tell he is very successful. the does compete anymore but he does do speeches for people. here are some photos of

#Dumplings

these are some phot from the dumpling our school had. It was great the Fan dance group, Tracy and some other people celebrated Chinese language week on the first week back at school. The fan dance group which is made up of 8 people helped the school make dumplings and there were some dough and batter left so we made lots of dumplings and gave them to our family. There were two different batters a Pork, leek, and cabbage option or a Vegetarian option which was coleslaw and egg.

Athletics Learning - How to properly throw a discus

Have you ever wondered what the discus throw is? Well, I can tell you here right now. Discus throw is a sport played all over the world, not the little South American, colorful freshwater fish. A discus is round with a metal ring around but you can get just rubber ones for beginners like me. Have you ever wondered how to throw a discus? Well, I can tell not right here right now but in the next paragraph.

First to learn how to \ throw a discus? \

You need a discus and a big patch of grass so you don't hit anyone. first, start off with getting in the stance and just roll the discus along the ground. After that you can start to try and throw the discus You won't get it on the first, second, third or the fourth time but you might have a good one on the fifth.

Discus was introduced as part of the pentathlon in the first Olympics which was in 776 BC. Wow, it has been around for a long time.

A discus usually has a smooth metal rim and a metal core to give the disc its weight, and the material used on the outer sides can be made from plastic, metal, wood, fiberglass or other material, although sometimes solid rubber discs are used.

The athlete must stand in a 2.5 m diameter circle, and not step over it, and throw the discus as far as he or she can without going over the foul lines.The athlete usually spins in the throwing circle before they throw the discus, to build momentum for the throw. As of 2012, discuss world records were both held by East Germans – Jürgen Schult, with 74.08 meters in 1986, and Gabriele Reinsch, 76.8 meters, in 1988
